Our story isn’t dissimilar to many startups; identify a niche within a market and tackle a need that is not being met by larger industry players. To say people were skeptical of a new investment firm launching in late 2008 as the global economy was on the brink would be a mild understatement. Looking back, it was the perfect time to launch. Whiteboards took precedent over wingtips, big ideas over bureaucracy. We added talented people who shared our vision for a research-driven firm that puts clients first.
